Irish golfer Graeme McDowell has always been known as a huge foodie and now, he has revealed that he plans to open a trendy bistro in the American state of Florida on St. Patrick’s Day. G-Mac, who won the US Open title back in 2010, is extremely excited about his upcoming project and revealed that the doors to the Nona Blue situated at Lake Nona in Orlando, Florida, United States of America next month; and in his excitement, he event posted a photo of the bistro’s mouth watering menu on the social networking site Twitter.
The restaurant, which will cover a total area of 5,618 sq ft has been billed as a ‘modern tavern’ and located in a retail park near the swish Lake Nona Golf and Country Club. The 33 year old from Portrush has also stayed true to the culinary roots he was brought up on and the bistro will serve up traditional culinary favorites from Northern Ireland including traditional fish and chips, mussels as well as all day fry up. Graeme McDowell revealed that Nona Blue will serve up some of the most traditional American dishes such as New York strip steak, black rib, creamed corn, meatloaf, grits and Florida’s very own Florida shrimps.
Moreover, some of the best belly busting desserts will be on the menu including hot fudge sundae, banoffee pie as well as hot cider doughnuts. The title dish of the bistro, aptly named the G-Mac and Cheese is a combination of cold water lobster, smoked bacon with a blend of three cheese and will be available for just $ 10.
Graeme McDowell has already extended invitations to the grand opening via Twitter to the likes of Darren Clarke and Rory McIlroy and his tennis player girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki as also expected to be present.
